Colour Management Services
I have listed the common services I provide with prices so you know what you're getting into and how much it will cost where possible. If you don't see a service that fits your needs please contact me and I will be happy to give you an estimate.
Graphic Designers $215
Many graphic designers work independently in a home or small office. This service will get your equipment calibrated and profiles and your software in order. One of the biggest benefits of this service is it will give you the confidence you need to talk to your print suppliers about colour.
Service includes:
- 1 monitor calibration and profile
- 2 printer profiles for standard drivers (2 papers - $45 per additional paper)
- 1 scanner profile (reflective or transparency - $45 per additional media)
- Software colour settings check with explanation on what things mean. (Adobe Suite, Quark Express)
Session usually takes 2 to 3 hours.
Photographers $295
Like graphic designers a lot of photographers work by themselves or in small teams in their own studio or home office. This service is for commercial photographers, photo journalists, photo restorers, wedding or portrait photographers. If you play the scan-tweak, print-tweak, print-tweak game until you've drain all your ink just to get one sellable print I can fix that.
Service includes:
- 1 monitor calibration and profile
- 2 printer profiles for standard drivers (2 papers - $45 per additional paper)
- 2 scanner profiles (reflective and transparency - $45 per additional media)
- 1 digital camera profile for studio use
- Software colour settings check with explanation on what things mean. (Adobe PhotoShop and Bridge, LIghtroom, Aperture, )
Session usually takes 3 to 4 hours.
Design and Ad Agencies, Publishers and Institutions $595
For these groups colour management is usually only an after thought. It will save you time and money and give you the ammunition you'll need to win the colour blame game. Do you want to be able to crank out that last minute proof right before an important meeting with a client? Well how about not having to tell the client this isn't what it will look like because we printed it ourselves? Imagine printer spot colours matching the guide swatches.
Service includes:
- 4 monitor calibrations and profiles ($25 per additional monitor)
- 2 printer profiles for standard drivers (2 papers - $45 per additional paper)
- Training in use of PDF printing workflow
- 4 Software colour settings check with explanation on what things mean. (Adobe Suite, Quark Express)
Session usually takes 6 to 8 hours.
Print for Pay Service Companies $85/hour
This is a pretty diverse group with varying needs and equipment. The time I usually get involved is when printer manufacturers install new equipment and leave you to your own devices. A better time to use my services is when you decide that you'd like to buy some new equipment. A bit of time spent going over your needs and matching them to the equipment available on the market can be invaluable. Cutting through the marketing smoke and mirrors is one of my specialities. Get an unbiased opinion before you buy can save you lots of heart ache.
Once you do get your new gear I can calibrate and profile media on most Major RIPs. I can help train your staff to use the new software and equipment.
